Topic: Los 40 Principales Radio Network

Los 40 principales is the most popular radio station in Spain with over 4 million listeners. It is also one of the largest musical radio networks in the world.

Its format is the adult contemporary hits, more commonly known as CHR. It aims to lead this genre in all Spanish-speaking countries, as well as in the Latin market in the United States.

The network is headquartered in Madrid, Spain and is owned by the media conglomerate Prisa Radio. It has radio stations in several Latin American countries including Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Uruguay.

Founded in the 1960s, Los 40 Principales was initially a music show on Radio Madrid and grew into a standalone radio network in 1979. It was originally part of the Cadena SER radio network, but it later became independent from SER in 1987 and is now a subsidiary of PRISA Radio.

A new image has been created for LOS40, featuring a multi-color bow that symbolizes union among cultures and diversity in global music. This bow also represents the different generations that enjoy listening to LOS40.

The new LOS40 image was unveiled in January and will be seen on the myTuner Radio website, apps (iOS, Android and Windows Phone), desktop and Apple TV. It is available on stations that are licensed to use the LOS40 brand.

Los 40 Principales features Spanish and English contemporary hit music, including American, Pan-European and Latin artists and bands. The main genres are Pop, Pop-rock and some House music.
